Celebrating the event by making Jelly Roll Sizzle, a free pattern download from Fat Quarter Shop.
I used two unrelated, but coordinating, jelly rolls from my stash. The price sticker on one read $19.99 from Tuesday Morning, so you know it’s well-aged! I used every last 2-1/2″ strip from the bundles. Strips not used for blocks went went into the binding. This quilt should finish at twin-size.
Instead of using squares for the stitch and flip corners, I modified the directions to use Deb Tucker’s Corner Pop Ruler – only I round up the square size needed to cut two triangles to the next half inch. Meaning, I’ll cut a 5-1/2″ square instead of the required 5-1/4″ square. Makes it much easier.
And just for fun, I tried the large Folded Corners Ruler from Antler Quilt Design to see if I could use it in a similar fashion to the Corner Pop ruler. Refer to the oversize corner method in the instructions and upsize the cutting squares to the next half inch.
