Collaborative Charity Quilt

My bee group gets it done!

Our latest charity quilt is certainly scrappy. Last week, we met at a local quilt shop for a sew day. I brought the top home to finish sewing the rows together. This quilt will finish at 60″ x 80″.

My friend came over to pick up the Janome 8900 today. We also made one last past pass through the boxes of donated fabric destined for the free table at our Friday guild meeting. Five yards of Bernatex backing fabric (pictured far right) came from one of those bins! I’ll be more than happy to piece the backing fabric!

Will I be quilting it? The acrylic insert for my sewing cabinet arrived yesterday. Now that I have a flat surface to quilt on, here’s a wonderful opportunity to practice FMQ with the stitch regulator!
